Jeffrey Helaney

I have an extremely eclectic background. I spent over 20 years in law enforcement and retired a few years ago as an Assistant Chief of Police due to work related injuries. I currently work within the ATOD (alcohol, tobacco, and other drug)l prevention field. In my spare time I enjoy writing. I have become a frequent contributor to a number of martial arts magazines and other periodicals. Due to my associations in the marital arts, I have fell into working on a number of film/movie projects. I am currently in the process of co-writing a script for an action film with friend. Finally, I am promoting the Omaha National Martial Arts Championship on May 8-9, 2009 as a fundraiser for a local YMCA. ONMAC Special Guests include: Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, Action Movie Star Don "the Dragon" Wilson, and Director Art Comacho. ONMAC will also be hosting the "SO YOU WANT TO BE A MARTIAL ARTS STAR" screen test as a cooperative effort with the Omaha Film Festival.
