Résumé professionnel
Wow, this journey called ‘life’. It is rather amazing.
I began dreaming of a career on a Broadway stage. I was tempted by debate and the political and legal fields, but managed to start as a Musical Theatre Major, with a Minor in British Literature. Meanwhile, working in the banking industry, design and marketing, dabbling in modeling and theatre along the way, and some time spent assisting with my father’s real estate appraisal business. I was a licensed Real Estate Broker at eighteen.
My passage then took me into work in the travel industry, advocacy, and actually working with at-risk youth. Experiences brought me a closer look at corrections and correctional education, and I became interested in criminal justice issues and politics. During that time, I changed Majors twice – Business then Psychology.
Now that I am retired (disabled, though I like to think I can still contribute so much), I volunteer with programs that work with criminal justice reform and focus on children with incarcerated parents and others at risk.
This ride has certainly been a turbulent one, but it has brought me so much understanding, and yes, wisdom. I treasure my own growth and look forward to continuing along, learning all the way, and hopefully making positive contributions to others.
