I'm continuing to build my knowledge and expertise in the field of sustainable economic development. I believe that business and government must take seriously the need to develop regional economies that are less environmentally harmful, are more equitable and more economically self-suffficient. I am working (with my wife and partner Jane) on developing the concept of Economic Gardening (EG) - a strategy that fosters the development of innovative, high growth SMEs as the foundation of self-sufficient regional economies. Our highly successful EG pilot in Shellharbour is steadily attracting interest from around Australia and internationally. EG was originally developed in 1987 by Chris Gibbons in Littleton Colorado. Jane and I have developed an Aussie version of EG which has now been operating since 2006.
