I believe in art as an important part of life, and I believe in the people who dedicate their time to creation and re-creation. That's why I started my business in 2002: TOT. The world behind the scenes is where TOT works.

TOT has launched a new product in 2006: Uurwerk. Uurwerk is a staffing program for the performing arts.

TOT is Technische Organisatie voor Theater or Technical Management for Theatre.
TOT works with theatre companies from all over the world who perform in The Netherlands. Dutch clients include producers, theatres and festivals.
Logistics and information, equipment and staff, safety and schedules.
TOT knows what it takes to create the best possible conditions for a performance. Only under perfect conditions can a performance be as it was meant to be.
And that's what makes us perform.

TOT offers three services: internal communication for venues and companies, technical tour production and festival management.
Technical tour production is what it takes to be technically prepared for a tour in a foreign country: how to fit the show into each venue, rent the extras within the budget, inform the venues, make sure there is enough staff and the paperwork is sorted.
Everything concerning tour production applies to a festival, albeit in a more condensed way: more companies in more venues in less time.
By internal communication I mean planning, information exchange, and in general: what it takes to run a business in the theatre world. Theatre is always a cooperation between venues, festivals, companies, sponsors etc.. Each party has got to do their homework to be prepared for the day of the show: from practical agreements about equipment, staff and parking space to how to motivate their own personnel. On top of that there is information to be exchanged, from requirements to health & safety certificates. And fortunately there is software to make life easier, once you know how to use it.

As an industrial psychologist I'm supposed to know about what goes on among people in business, after 10 years as a touring technical manager I have an idea of what it takes to be able to open the curtain on time.

Before founding TOT, I worked as a freelance photographer and allround theatre technician for 10 years.
