ResourceWorks provides resources and makes connections to build the capacity of nonprofit leaders. We manage the GPOA Foundation, the Unified Nonprofits of Greater New Orleans, and DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies); coordinate the annual Together We Can conference for the Louisiana Supreme Court/Office of Community Services: present training workshops related to fundraising , organization effectiveness, as well as fostercare/adoption. ResourceWorks also conducts needs assessments and does special projects, such as the Louisian State Plan on Child Abuse Prevention. ResourceWorks recently created a Development Team concept that serves as the development office for a nonprofit orgs, via a team that includes a grantwriter, special events expert, major gifts advisor, etc.. ResourceWorks provides advice, but also designs tools and makes connections for its clients. If we don't have the expertise we can find it.

The Unified Nonprofits is a coalition of nonprofit leaders that formed post-Katrina. It meets weekly and provides a daily listserve with information about events, funding sources, policy issues and more.

The GPOA Foundation makes grants to organizations that serve children in Louisiana, particularly in New Orleans. The primary focus is education, broadly defined. We are also involved with Grantmakers for Children, Youth and Families and the Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families.
