Tara Lumpkin, PhD, is President of Perception, a non-profit organization that promotes biological, cultural, and perceptual diversity. She is an anthropologist, who has also worked as an international development consultant, journalist, professor of writing and media, and in communications, and she has published extensively. In addition, she offers coaching with a focus on the growth of consciousness and healing. She calls this process “Izilwane.” It draws on perceptual diversity, ethology, somatic experiencing, shamanism, medical anthropology, environmental anthropology, meditation, body movement, and her own experiences as a medical anthropologist. Tara offers individual sessions, retreats, workshops, and travel workshops (“Izula”) in this area. She also is a certified somatic experiencing practitioner with a personal private practice.
