Bob has been in the IT profession since 1977, when he first began writing application programs for Ohio Scientific Instruments, located in Hiram Ohio. Since then, he has sat in about every seat in the IT world, including:
 Data Processing Manager for the City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio for 6 years.
 CIO (Chief Information Officer) for Patio Enclosures Inc for 14 years.
 Independent IT Consultant

His functional experiences include development (including .Net, Visual Foxpro), Server applications (SQL, Exchange, SharePoint), and Network implementations (Active Directory, Novell). His application experiences are equally varied, including Manufacturing (MRP and some ERP), CRM, Medical Insurance, Quality Control, Business Process and Accounting. He is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and has trained personnel from companies like the Cleveland Clinic, Progressive Insurance to single-person IT shops.

He’s well known for speaking plainly and clearly about the challenges bringing Information Technology in line with Business processes.

And last year he was specifically invited by Microsoft to be one of only a dozen Small Business Specialists in the country to be part of Microsoft’s Small Business Advisory Council.

Bob is also recognized locally and nationally for his contribution to the IT User Group community. He has spoken at several national events (most recently Microsoft Tech-Ed in Orlando in June 2008). He’s a former columnist for “Inside Business,” and has written articles for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and other magazines.

Bob’s commitment to education is obvious from his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Hiram College, and the number of certifications he’s acquired over the years (several of which he was a charter member, one of the first to earn it). He brings that commitment to all employees of Simplex-IT.

Bob lives in Hudson with his wife Julie. His life is made more interesting by daughters Leah, Erin and Roberta, and three grandkids. What small amount of spare time Bob has he dabbles in such things as improvisational comedy. Strangely enough, Bob is a graduate of the famed Second City Improvisational Conservatory.
