In January 2003, Glenda Sanders was sworn in as a Judge of the Superior Court of California. Initially presiding at the West Justice Center in Westminster, California, Judge Glenda Sanders oversaw primarily criminal cases. From October 2006 to October 2008, Judge Glenda Sanders served as Supervising Judge of the Harbor Justice Center, which included courts in Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, and Laguna Niguel. After leaving the Harbor Justice Center, Judge Glenda Sanders presided over felony jury trials and related motions at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, California. Since July 2009, Judge Glenda Sanders has served on the Civil Panel at the Central Justice Center, where she handles unlimited jurisdiction civil matters. Judge Glenda Sanders entered the legal profession following graduation from the Law Schools of Natal University in South Africa and Cambridge University in England. After periods as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cape Town and as a Barrister in Durban, South Africa, Judge Glenda Sanders joined Los Angeles-based Latham & Watkins, LLP as an Associate in 1986. Approximately seven years later, Judge Glenda Sanders was admitted as a Partner at Latham & Watkins, LLP. Judge Glenda Sanders served as a member of the firm-wide Associates’ Committee and the Recruiting Committee. At Latham & Watkins, Judge Glenda Sanders dealt with cases involving trade secrets, unfair competition, copyright, real estate, business torts, securities, and other commercial matters in state and federal courts. Over the course of her career, Judge Glenda Sanders has been a member of the board of the Orange County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the American Association of Business Trial Lawyers. Judge Glenda Sanders was also a Delegate to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and an arbitrator/mediator on the AAA’s Complex Litigation Panel.
