Prior to taking up his current research position at Harvard and founding his corporate advisory firm, AsiaStrat LLC, Dr. Overholt spent 21 years running investment bank research and advisory teams and 14 years in think tanks advising on corporate strategy and government policies. He was chief Asia strategist and economist for Nomura. At the RAND Corporation he was Director of the Center for Asia Pacific Policy. He is the author of six books, including The Rise of China, the first book to forecast China's huge economic success, and most recently Asia, America and the Transformation of Geopolitics (Cambridge University Press).
