Leo Trujillo-Cox

Leo Trujillo-Cox is UCLA School of Law's Executive Director of Academic Outreach & Development and the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruitment. He also designed, developed, and serves as an instructor for the Law Fellows Program. Now in its eleventh year, the Law Fellows Program is UCLA Law’s cornerstone outreach initiative. This pioneering academic development initiative ensures equity, access, and excellence in legal education for underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Mr. Trujillo-Cox received his BA degrees in political science and ethnic studies from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991 and a JD degree from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 1997. He is committed to community outreach, education, and organizing, and to forwarding academic equity and excellence in legal education both in California and nationally. As a law student, Mr. Trujillo-Cox was the Student Bar Association President and the recipient of the César Chávez and Public Interest Law Foundation Fellowships for his Environmental Justice work with California Rural Legal Assistance and the National Resources Defense Council. He served on the UC President's Graduate and Professional School Coordinating Committee as well as on three incarnations of UCLA Law School's Task Force on Admissions. He was named "Alumnus of the Year" by the UCLA La Raza Law Students Association. Mr. Trujillo-Cox has served on the LSAC Minority Affairs Subcommittee on New Initiatives as and is currently on the Pipeline Models Conference Planning Committee. He is also a founding board member for a Los Angeles public charter school, which serves K-8 students through an arts and music based curriculum, emphasizing academic excellence, diversity, and ecological and social responsibility.
