Rod has over 30 years of personnel management, sales and marketing, and business systems analysis and development experience working with several firms in Richmond, Virginia. He started his career as a programmer/ analyst with Best Products Company and spent over 18 years with them before leaving in 1989 to take a position as Branch Manager/Senior Principal with American Management Systems (AMS), a large national consulting firm.

After 8-years with AMS, he purchased the line of business, staff, and facilities he managed from AMS and joined Data Directions, Inc., one of Richmond’s oldest and most respected Information Technology Consulting, Training and Application Development firms as co-owner and Senior Vice President.

Rod spent 11 years in this capacity, responsible for sales, marketing, account management, and back-office hardware and software administration.

In late 2007, Rod sold his interest in Data Directions to pursue another career path. After taking time to study and plan, I formed a company, RRD Enterprises and began studying to enter the financial services business while doing some I.T. Consulting to make ends meet. I became licensed to sell Life, Health, and Annuity products in December of 2008 and joined the New York Life Insurance Company shortly thereafter.

Raised in Stafford County, Virginia. College at VCU 1968-1971. Moved to Richmond permanently in 1970. Lives in western Henrico County. Loves the area and the people.

Married, Shirley (32+ years). Raised two very special kids, Cameron - 26, lives in Richmond, Zachary - 29, lives in Charlotte with Ace Daughter-in-Law Lindsey.
