As Gardener's Adviser, I help people assess their yard and garden spaces, to figure out what's healthy, what's in the right place and anything they may need to do for stormwater management. Then we work together to design modifications to best suit their needs and desires. I emphasize native and low maintenance plants, particularly those which are adaptable to drought and high moisture conditions. Rather than implement these changes, I work to help the individuals do this themselves, where needed, showing how to prune, transplant or other skills. You can do it; I can help.

I'm also working with Friends of Sligo Creek on their Stormwater Management Committee and the Invasives Committee, and with Montgomery County to implement more organized neighborhood efforts both to install rain gardens and the like, and to help control exotic invasive plants.
