Michael Julian Bond serves as Vice President of Marketing for Seniors Home Reverse Mortgage, Inc. Bond is also the President and CEO of Covenant Consulting Inc., a public policy advocacy & government relations firm with several subsidiaries. Bond specializes in public speaking, community advocacy, strategic planning and political organizing.

An orator and frequent commentator on national & local television and radio programs, he also served as Producer & host of “About Atlanta” a local cable television show. Bond has received numerous citations and awards.

Bond a Life Member of the NAACP, served as the Georgia NAACP Membership Coordinator for the “Membership 1000 Campaign” 2006, and as Elections Protections Supervisor for the NAACP during the 2004 Election. Bond is the former Deputy Director and Chief Programs Officer for the Atlanta Branch NAACP. Bond was responsible for outreach, media communications, and implementation of all Branch Programs including; voter registration & education, membership development, Youth Council and ACT-SO. Bond served as Co-Chair of the NAACP Southeast Regional Training Conference in 2003.

Bond served two terms on the Atlanta City Council representing District Three, serving as President Pro Tempore in 2001 and chair of Public Safety & Legal Administration and Community Development Committees in 1996.As a legislator Bond introduced, passed, authored and co-authored more legislation per term than any person in the City’s history. His total nears over 1150 pieces of legislation passed. His accomplishments include limiting the number of package stores in neighborhoods, demolishing dilapidated structures, and supporting new construction of affordable housing in the community. Bond also authored legislation to prohibit the City from doing business with institutions that engage in predatory lending.

Bond repaired more streets, sidewalks, and infrastructure than in any other district (most had not been attended to in at least four decades). Bond doubled the amount of Community Block Funds ever invested in his district, after eight years totaling more than 25 million dollars. He fulfilled the City's 30-year promise to rebuild the historic Washington Park Natatorium. He secured over $130 million for the creation of the Westside Village & Publix Grocery Store and authored the enabling legislation for Atlantic Station, Atlanta’s largest in-town housing & retail development project. Former Secretary Cuomo of the Department United States Housing and Urban Development (HUD) selected Bond as a Community Builder Appointee.

Bond serves as a national board member of the American Diabetes Association “Advocacy Committee”, distinguished member of the ADA’s “Pinnacle Society”, immediate past Chairman of the ADA’s “Atlanta Leadership Council”, Chair of the Atlanta ADA’s “Advocacy Committee” and has served as Chairman of the ADA’s “Walk for Diabetes” in years 2000, ‘01, & ’02. Bond also serves as a founding member of the ADA’s “Fathers Day Council“– Atlanta Committee, ’03-presen and is a past national board member of the “Community and Volunteerism” committee. Bond serves on the boards of the Ollie Street and East Lake Family YMCA’s, and is a founding board member of the Centennial Place YMCA. Bond is Chairman of the board for the “Laffapalooza Urban Comedy Festival” and its affiliate, the “Learning through Laughter Foundation”, a youth mentoring organization. Bond is also a Board member of the “Ron Clark Academy” Foundation.

Bond is an alumnus of Leadership Atlanta and the Black-Jewish Coalition's Project Understanding. Bond is a member of St. James # 4, PHA, AFSCME, Atlanta Inner Circle, Fulton County Youth Council, Fulton County Human Services Call to Manhood Committee, Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, Georgia Municipal Association and Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals.

A fifth generation Atlantan, he is the son of famed Civil Rights Leader NAACP Board Chairman Julian Bond and Alice Clopton Bond. Bond attended Morehouse College and Georgia State University. He and his family are members of Antioch North Baptist Church.
