Expatriate is defined in most English language dictionaries as a person who is living in a foreign country or to take oneself away from one's native country. They are commonly called Expats. That pretty well describes us during the twenty or more years we worked overseas. Admittedly this is not nearly as many as some people we know but it is a lot more than most expatriates. During that time we visited more that sixty countries. When you land in a country’s airport and take off less than twenty four hours later, you can’t count that as a visit. We also realize that being in a country for only a few days doesn't make you an expert. We have never claimed to be an expert about any country – not even our own. Domestically, we have lived in GA, FL, HI, IL, NJ, NY and have been in all but OK of the fifty states. It is, however, much better than not to have experienced any part of the lives of people in whatever country or state you’re in. We find it amazing that people living on the same planet can be so different, yet so much alike. There are so many countries in the world and parts of the States we would still like to visit but we are sure we do not have enough time left in this lifetime to see them all. We have seen, enjoyed, and written about some of these places also, primarily for our children. g'children and future generations. .
