Professional Summary
Hey World - I'm a marketing "utility infielder" looking for a new ballpark to play in!!!!
I am creative, excellent communicator, and problem solver. I love to interview people. I channel my clients' "voices" in my writing work, tend to write quickly, few rewrites.
I thrive on challenge - short deadlines, new projects, difficult people. Love to work with a team, but love my solo work, too.
Often identified as the "go-to" person, pragmatic, and energetic. Very good sense of humour. My background is communications management and marketing.
Most recent adventures:
For the last 7 years I have "lived" chronic disease management, patient self management, health literacy and telehealth (e.g.,home monitoring blood pressure). These issues are not going to go away. I wrote user help information, training materials, articles and data sheets; developed and ran a twice-yearly onsortium Summit, and on...
Pro Bono work:
Kids have been a large part of my not-for-profit experience - quality day care, special education, adolescent angst, and gay and lesbian safety. I have testified at hearings, raised money, served on boards, written releases and targeted articles, and appeared on panels. Today's world is sooooo complicated, I can't imagine navigating it without a net - whatever that net needs to be.
About Me:
Started kick-boxing a few months ago - why didn't I do this earlier??? I LOVE it.
Love my gardens - roses, herbs, veggies, and other flowers. We gave flowers and produce away to folks on our street and got to know many of them. Time in the dirt is much cheaper than therapy.
Books, books, books, writing, crossword puzzles, Wall Street Journal
Wine and food, food and wine. Great experiments, a good group of fellow travels who help drink those rare and wonderful wines from when we were younger, had sense enough to put them down.
Beekeepers - two hives with the most civilized groups of girls I've ever seen - all120K of them. Could watch them for hours... They are the Sweet Sisters of my "occasional" poetry brand.
