Emily Lewis

Freelance Web Designer, Emily Lewis Design, LLC

I am the author of Microformats Made Simple (http://microformatsmadesimple.com) and a freelance web designer (*hire me*). I have been working as a web professional since 1998, dabbling in project management and programming until I realized my true loves (HTML and CSS) and became a web designer. I am a web geek of the "standardista" variety, and get excited about things like usability, semantics, microformats, valid markup and CSS, and accessibility. In addition to loving all things web, I am passionate about community building and knowledge sharing. I am the co-creator and co-manager of Webuquerque (http://webuquerque.com), the New Mexico Adobe User Group for web practitioners. I also write about web design (amongst a range of other topics) on A Blog Not Limited (http://ablognotlimited.com), as well as for industry publications including MIX Online, .net magazine and ScriptJunkie. I speak about web standards, markup, CSS, accessibility and microformats for various groups and conferences, including the University of New Mexico, the New Mexico Technology Council, InterLab, Environments for Humans and Voices That Matter.
