Ernie Bono

Ernie Bono is a nationally known speaker, consultant and author of the book, There Are No Shortcuts: Enjoying the Balance of Faith, Family and Career. It details his life experiences from his childhood days growing up in the tough “Devil’s Pocket” neighborhood of 1950’s Philadelphia to his career as an executive with the Prudential Insurance Company. Central to Ernie’s business career and his book, is the ability not to let his short statue slow him down. Through his speaking, consulting and writing, Ernie shares his passion for developing and motivating others to enhance positive communication and innovation with a wonderful ability to inform and inspire audiences toward peak performance and high levels of achievement. He has consulted with such companies as Fidelity National Capital, Acosta Sales and Marketing, PineRidge Film & Television Company and Rug Decor. Ernie rose through the ranks of the Prudential Insurance Company starting out in 1972 as a Division Manager. In less than 10 years he became one of the youngest vice presidents in company history when he was named Vice President of Regional Marketing, Central Atlantic Home Office. Ernie continued his rise through Prudential eventually becoming Managing Director of Prudential Select where he worked until his retirement in 1995. Throughout his successful career, he gave over 400 presentations. Ernie is a graduate of Cheyney State University in Cheyney, PA where he lettered in football. He received his Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) Degree from American College and his Limra Life Insurance Fellow (LLIF) from Babson College. He is a board member of Catholic Charities and Baptist Beaches Medical Center of Jacksonville, FL. He is also the Vice President and Secretary of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation where he has helped raise over 5 million dollars to help area families who have been stricken with childhood cancers.
