James Hursthouse has over ten years of proven games industry and entrepreneurial success. He is currently CEO of Roadhouse Interactive Ltd., a Vancouver- based online game production company founded in December 2009 by game industry veterans with a collective track record of over US $2 billion in sales and extensive experience in the new production, development and operational models of social online games. He is also CEO of IGM K.K., a Tokyo-based company specializing in the sale and support of game development technology to the Japanese games industry. His introduction to the online games industry initially came in Tokyo through work with an early incarnation of Nexon, the company responsible for the world’s first graphical MMO, The Kingdom of the Winds. He moved to the US in June of 2004 to set up Online Game Services Inc. (OGSi), rapidly establishing it as a groundbreaking infrastructure provider to the online games industry. A UK national, now living in Vancouver, BC, James has built and continues to maintain an extensive network of contacts in the global online game development, publishing, and technology sectors. James was previously Chairman of the Advisory Board for the LOGIN Game Conference and continues to serve on the advisory board. He was also Chairman of the IGDA’s Online Games SIG. He holds advisory board positions with a number of game studios and companies. Prior to the games industry, his career included stints in digital media production / localization as CEO/Founder of TCi Japan Ltd., Internet Media as VP of Sales and Marketing at eigoTown.com, and educational publishing as Japan Manager for Cambridge University Press.
