Katie studied graphic design and illustration at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. Using design techniques and elements, she began experimenting with a variety of media before happily coming back to painting, which she had studied before beginning her design career. Katie’s nearly unquenchable passion for process, progress, creation and discovery requires that she paint daily in her Kalama Washington studio. Her paintings sell regularly through local galleries, private sales, monthly shows and quarterly events. Honored as the 2006 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Women Entrepreneur Organization of Washington, Katie's clients and collectors include Vancouver & Portland-based design & advertising firms, children's magazines, public schools, non-profit organizations, & a variety of private families and small businesses. When not painting, you can find Katie enjoying time with her husband and two small children, as well as walking, reading, watching movies, and learning about art, business, parenting, cooking, health, yoga and more.
