Marcelo SavioIT Architect, IBM IT Architect dedicated to pre-sales activities with focus on the Brazilian industrial sector. I have a B.Sc. in Mathematics and M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering. I started my career in 1988 as programmer and later as a Systems Support analyst. In 1992 I joined IBM where I worked as a Certified IT Specialist until 2000, when I left the company to work as a Consulting IT Architect for TIVIT (former OptiGlobe), then a startup datacenter services company. Five years later, in 2005, I rejoined IBM as an IT Architect of the Software Group division. In that same year I was elected member of the local IBM Technical Leadership Council (TLC), an organization that works closely together with the IBM Academy of Technology, with the mission to identify and pursue technical developments and opportunities relevant to IBM's business, seeking to improve IBM's technology base and applications. I am part of the IBM Academic Initiative, in which I perform a (voluntary) work as an “IBM ambassador” to some Universities. I am member of some local IBM Software User Groups (WebSphere, Rational, Tivoli) and also member of the IBM Linux Community. |
