Paul SimpsonAccount Director, Tangent One Originally from Durham in the North East of England, I have lived in London since 1994, when I took up a place at University College London (UCL). At university I was involved with Labour's Youth movement which culminated in my election as Chair of London Young Labour (1998-2000) and as a youth representative on Labour's National Policy Forum (1999-2001). In September 2001, I started work for the then Labour MP Stephen Twigg and the Enfield Southgate Labour Party. In this role, I ran several campaigns including the election campaign of Joanne McCartney to the Greater London Assembly in 2004. From 2005 I went to work for the Labour Party, first as a Regional Organiser and then as Head of Corporate Communications. As well as coordinating print and direct mail campaigns, I launched Labour's first podcast and lead the team that put the Labour Party on to YouTube and also remodelled Labour's national website. I also had responsibility for Labour's design and publishing unit as well enforcing Labour's house style. In October 2007 I was appointed Head of Public Affairs at the Britain Israel Communication and Research Centre (BICOM) to lead on the organisations contribution to the 'Stop the Boycott' campaign. In January 2009 I took up the post of Account Director at Tangent One where I am working on the moving forward the digital operations of a number of clients, including the Labour Party. In my spare time I am a keen amateur photographer and I am a Trustee of the Twentieth Century Society.
