Don received his B.S. degree in 1996 from Florida State University and his J.D. degree in 2000 from the University of Miami School of Law. He was the recipient of a Dean’s Honor Scholarship and a Florida Education Fund Scholarship as well as a member of the Moot Court Board, Son of Chief, (vice-president/treasurer), to the Iron Arrow Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, and president of the UM Law Student Bar Association. He has actively counseled high net worth and celebrity individuals on life and business decisions since 1997 and specializes in the areas of trusts and estate planning, probate, corporate law, sports & entertainment and real estate. He was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2001.

Don counsels families, individuals and entities on the principles of generational legacy and wealth transfer as a Vice President and Trust Officer with Axis Legacy Planning & Trusts, P.L., an inclusive wealth management firm with a unique planning philosophy of promoting “Healthy & Sustained Family Wealth” with offices in Atlanta, Georgia and four Florida locations and a liaison in Dubai, U.A.E.

He has been involved in the development of legal clinic education at the University of Miami School of Law and has developed material and taught the subject of Atletics and the Law as a Adjunct member of the faculty of the University of Miami School of Law. In 2008, Don released "A Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting Personal Legacy Statements - An Ancient Tool of the Thoughtful, Wealthy & Wise" a book he co-authored with Tim Morrison and published by Axis Publishing Company, LLC. Don has also authored numerous articles on sports, entertainment, estate planning, trusts, and business law.
