Professional Summary
I'm originally from Iowa, but I now make my home in central Texas, around the Austin area. I'm 44 years old and my wife's name is Maria. We have two children. Xavier (Alex) is 19 years old who just went off to college at University of Texas - Permian Basin in Odessa. Sarah is 12 years old and just started the sixth grade. They both like to swim and Xavier went to State the last two years in a row and he placed fifth in the One Hundred Yard Butterfly last year. He's also swimming for UTPB this year.
I like to write and ride my Harley-Davidson motorcycle in my free time. I've been doing both for a number of years now. I've ridden my motorcycle to all 48 states of the lower-continental United States! And not on a trailer! It was all hard miles on the seat!
I have a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from The University of the State of New York, Regents College (now Excelsior College).
I was a noncommissioned officer in the United States Army where I served for 9 1/2 years as a Radio Teletype Operator and an Interrogator. I studied the Russian Language for a year at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California in 1989, jumped out of perfectly good airplanes in Fort Benning, Georgia in 1986, and I was named the Soldier of the Year for III Corps and Fort Hood in 1987.
