Resumo profissional
As an entrepreneur with arts and academic background, as well as fashion merchandising experience, I work in all facets of product development, marketing and promotion, including design, branding, copy writing, video editing, and now web management too. My academic background is in Visual Arts, Art History, Women's, Cultural and Performance Studies.
I grew up in Washington, DC, where my mother's work in the Civil Rights Movement fostered my own commitment to social justice and civil society, sustainable economic and environmental development and fair trade, among other related ideals. Those ideals have also been central to Gloster Global and its development.
I studied dance in NYC, and later returned to school to study art and romance languages at the University of Arkansas, then continued that study combined with socio/political interests at Duke where I won a number of scholarships and academic honors. Graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, I was awarded a Javits Fellowship for graduate study.
Through emphasis on developing art-based products for fair-trade business, running Gloster Global affords me a unique opportunity to combine my expertise and experience in business, art and design with my broader social concerns.

Along with my husband, Michael Gloster, I own and run Gloster Global LLC. Creating products with purpose, we have designed a line of pet themed jewelry -- the T.A.O. Pet Edition. Targeted at all pet owners and animal lovers, we will use these designs to help support animal welfare and rescue, as well as raise awareness. We also design and manufacture our T.A.O. Together as One Signature jewelry based on our original - very successful - sculpture designs.
All of our designs are relationship themed, universal symbols of our shared human values, emphasizing the importance of family, friends, kinship and community, conveying connection, caring, and love.
As meaningful, but still affordable gifts, our artistic products are keepsakes that offer excellent marketing opportunities for special occasions: anniversaries, births, weddings and holidays, or to make any occasion memorable. Both our jewelry and sculpture collections may be purchased in our web store. We also make our collections available at wholesale to other retailers.
Like our collections, our original song, Together as One, is about human connection that transcends difference. Hopeful in its message, it was, fittingly, recorded in Zimbabwe during the unrest following the disputed elections of 2008. Versions of Together as One may be heard at www.GlosterGlobal.com accompanying videos that draw on our travel and work experiences in Africa, and feature some of the extraordinary artists we have met.
In promoting our products and music, we also want to promote philanthropy. To help customers support causes that are important to them, Gloster Global sends its customers a Good Card ® equal in value to 10% of any total purchase of $50 or more. The Good Card can be used to donate funds to any of the 1.5 million registered non-profit groups participating in Network for Good.
