Professional Summary
In these days of social networking and one to one marketing you have to be able to clearly articulate your companies message spin free. You also have to listen to what your community is saying. Moreover you have to keep the community engaged. This is the art of conversation, whether in person, on a blog, or in 150 characters.
Over the last 14 years I have been involved in just about every aspect of marketing, but what I excel at are:
- starting conversations and keeping people engaged
- integrated marketing, finding creative ways to link the press release with promotions for specific events, and tying in a social marketing campaign
Currently I work at Intalio, the Open Source Busones Process Management company. We just completed a major web update and are getting over 5 times the amount of traffic we were getting. Now I am working on marketing automation - slicing and dicing our leads, prioritizing them, and taking some of the more routine tasks off of the sales team's hands.
Before Intalio I worked for ThinkFree where I had control over all of the aspects of marketing including developing marketing materials, events, Analyst and Public Relations, market research, social marketing and everything in between. Even in the face of very large competitors, Microsoft on the right and Google on the left, we were able to position the company as a top tier player and were consistently mentioned whenever there was a news event, including announcements from Microsoft, IBM and Adobe. We were featured on NPR, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, TechCrunch, Podcast Network and much more. Our marketing programs won the following awards:
-2 MARCOM CREATIVE AWARDS
-2 ANVIL AWARDS
-COMMUNICATOR PRINT AWARD
-HERMES CREATIVE AWARD
-LACP MAGELLAN AWARD
-O’DWYER PR EXCELLENCE AWARD
-GOLD SABRE AWARD FINALIST
Prior to joining ThinkFree, I was a marketing manager for SchoolMessenger, which is an education-telephony service company. While at the firm, I created, implemented and managed a variety of internal and external marketing programs, including direct email marketing, internal communications and PR. On the in-bound marketing side I analyzed and segmented customers, researched new business opportunities, and provided competitive analysis.
And before that I worked as a product marketing manager at Hewlett-Packard, where I directed communications projects, developed cross-media content and managed presentations for conferences, tradeshows and given to high profile prospects. These demonstrations were also translated into interactive formats and provided to the field along with the necessary training to deliver them to customers.
I got my B.A. in politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
